How did we get here?

        Our Story!

I love being married! It has come with its fair share of challenges but all were overcome and our relationship grew stronger and better. My husband, Damion, and I got married in September, 2012. We were both on the hunt to having a beautiful yet cost effective wedding ceremony and reception. Mind you this was easier said than done. I work in the nursing profession and he’s now an IT Consultant, police officer at the time, and we both knew very little about wedding preparation. Thankfully we had great support from both our families; so much of the major stuff was taken care of. Damion ended up leaving our country of Trinidad to go to the U.S. He had to leave me behind. Maintaining a long distance relationship is no easy task but we were able to overcome all challenges. Needless to say, I was now in charge of planning our wedding. Peacock themed nonetheless…

One thing I knew I wanted to try out was this new craze of cupcake towers and stands instead of the traditional ‘pretty & cascading’ wedding cakes. All I wanted was for my Aunty Kay from Tobago to bake my cake for me, using the last set of rum-cured fruits from my now deceased Tanty Cynthia. She was the cake specialist of the family. This was a must-have. I attended a wedding Expo and discovered beautiful cake stands on display; well decorated, attractive but not many cupcake stands. Back in 2012 this was a craze that was slowly catching on but not fully embraced. So I began to look online.

I then discovered the perfect cupcake stand. It was BIG but not overwhelming, able to hold 300 regular sized cupcakes, easy to decorate, lightweight and easy to assemble. It was made from corrugated cardboard (say what?! Not acrylic?!)… Yes I said it… Corrugated Cardboard that was reusable and recyclable and came with accessories too. Sold! I made my order and it arrived a few days before the wedding, with easy instructions to assemble. I left my Aunty Kay and cousin Jellicia to complete that for me. After all, I was the bride, not the baker!

I was only able to see the final product on my wedding day at the reception. When I entered, I saw my cupcake tower in its entire splendor on grand display, which held 250 cupcakes; … needless to say I was moved with emotion. It was stunning and reflected my personality!!! It was a money saver because the cupcakes were shared as dessert with ice cream for my 175 wedding guests. Here was where I knew that I could help provide this service to other brides, looking for beauty, elegance, function & fun as well. Guests were enamored with the cupcake tower for its simplicity, grace and effectiveness.
